A new rapid Covid-19 test with reported 99% accuracy could significantly improve New Jersey’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak. Not only could the new test increase the safety and wellness of New Jerseyans generally in advance of a vaccine in December, it could be a boon to New Jersey businesses that rely on slower testing prior to permitting affected employees back to the workplace. Looking at CUE Health’s website, it appears that their test is tied to a mobile app; another example of how technology and healthcare can come together to create novel solutions with a large beneficial impact.
“More than a dozen COVID-19 cases and one hospitalization are being linked to an outbreak among workers at the Salem County Board of Elections. Contact tracing is underway, in addition to extended testing. It’s one system the state successfully ramped up since the spring. Health experts predict it should prevent the need for another widespread lockdown — along with the help of a new COVID-19 test called CUE that is reportedly 99% accurate and yields results in less than 20 minutes.
