J&J vaccine is to arrive shortly after FDA approval of its emergency use authorization application, a welcome addition to the existing vaccines approved and being deployed to help the United States and the world reach herd immunity as soon as possible. If you haven’t already registered to receive a vaccine at the New Jersey State website, do so today. And as with other States, there are numerous avenues to receive a vaccine in New Jersey including an independent Federal retail pharmacy program that already has CVS and Rite Aid enrolled. Want to know more about where and how to get an appointment once you are registered with the State? There is a Twitter account for that, and it has already assisted thousands of New Jerseyans in getting vaccinated. Keep it open in a window on your computer and watch when appointments open up in your area. The light at the end of the tunnel is shining brighter and brighter each day. It’s a proud time for New Jerseyans and especially New Brunswickers, with J&J headquartered in the Hub City.
“The Food and Drug Administration is expected to give emergency use authorization for Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine as early as this weekend. It would be the third vaccine authorized for use in the United States, but the only one that requires just a single dose. In addition, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine does not require the same ultra-cold storage and transportation as the previously authorized Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. “Should this application be approved, as it appears it may, we have been notified that we should expect an initial shipment of roughly 70,000 doses to be delivered to us next week,” Gov. Phil Murphy said, adding, “Quite simply, an approval of Johnson & Johnson’s application would be a game-changer.”
